1. Give your partner some space. Everyone needs some time to themselves no and then. Also if you need to know where they have been and what they are up to all the time you should back off. You are creating a claustrophobic atmosphere for them in your relationship. Try not to always be worried about what they up to.
2. Learn how to compromise. Sometimes bypassing your own needs to create a happy setting is the best route. Always trying to win every point of discussion between you and your partner can get old. This goes both ways in every relationship.
3. Spend time with each other on your terms. Do not let children dominate your relationship. You and your partner deserve some down time together.
4.You do not know what tomorrow will bring so enjoy the present.
5. Communicate with each other. Learn what each of your likes and dislikes are about your marriage and discuss them. Be sensible and work to solve them together. Each of you needs to listen to what the other say without dominating the conversation. Being able to communicate with each other is vital to a healthy relationship.
6. Be supportive of each other through the good and bad times.
7. Take care of yourselves so you are healthy and active. Make your place of residence a home in the true sense of the word.
